What’s your favorite location on campus that’s not on our tour? The Great Hall in the Humanities Building - As a former English student at UR, I love cozying up on a couch in the Great Hall with a good book and a cup of coffee from 8:15. The warm lighting and dark wood make me feel like I've jumped into Hogwarts.
Best D-hall creation or food item? I love making salads with the arugula in the avocado toast bar and dressing them with olive oil and lemon juice. I'll also always grab corn dog nuggets when I see them!
Where on campus do you feel most energized? I love the livelihood of walking through Tyler Haynes Commons during a class passing period. In just a quick walk, you get to take in students chatting on the way to their next class and people heading to Tyler's to grab smoothies or wraps, all while waving to friends, professors, and colleagues. It's a sweet way to experience our tight-knit community here at UR.
Favorite music genre? Indie pop and country
If you could go back to college and major in a different subject, what would you pick? Biology or Ecology. My family is full of avid birdwatchers (myself included), and I'd love to expand my local knowledge of the birds in my backyard to a more scientific understanding of birds in our country and around the world.
What advice would you give to students going through the college search process? Approach the process with an open mind! There are always things you can learn in a conversation with an admission counselor, on a tour, or while exploring the website by asking good questions that come from a perspective of curiosity.
